 Real Estate Planning and Development

Real estate is a relationship-driven industry, and my four-years with TRREA has allowed me to develop many strong relationships and friendships that I still keep in contract with today. These connections have proven to be invaluable, as they have opened many doors to timely industry insights, off-market opportunities, and partnerships that have positively impacted my career as a commercial real estate appraiser. In a complex and highly competitive environment, the ability to establish and maintain meaningful connections can be the difference between thriving and struggling.

TRREA has played an integral role in my overall student experience as it provided me with an environment to connect with like-minded real estate enthusiasts, plan and attend insightful events discussing various real estate topics, and access to an extensive industry professional network allowing me to form worthwhile professional relationships.

TRREA has opened many different gates of opportunity for me. From building my skills, experience and relationships, I have been able to expand my knowledge of the commercial real estate industry through working on events and meeting new industry professionals. I was able to build a foundation for myself that helped me land multiple different roles in the commercial real estate industry.

Participating in Expand Your Empire was a transformative event for me as an academic and young professional. Given my previous background in accounting and finance, EYE provided an opportunity to apply my skills and knowledge to real-world problems faced in real estate development. Presenting at EYE not only introduced me to peers and mentors, but it also opened professional pathways that ultimately led me to a career in real estate finance.

Participating in the 10th annual EYE real estate development case competition was an unparalleled experience that provided me with great opportunities for both networking and learning. I was able to meet professionals and peers who opened doors to new insights and exciting collaborations. From an educational perspective, it allowed me to apply concepts in a real-world context and gain a deeper understanding of the complexities within real estate development. Truly, it was an enriching journey that I am confident will significantly contribute to my professional growth. For any students looking to pursue a career in real estate, I highly recommend you compete!
